What to Watch Tonight: UK Seed Watch

Today we continue our daily look at what games matter in terms of the Wildcats seeding and for other SEC teams trying to make the NCAA tournament. The Cats are currently projected as a 4 seed by ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi.

Tonight there are several games that will effect the Wildcats tournament seed.  Some are teams that the Cats are trying to pass up for a better seed and some are teams trying to overtake the Cats. Here is a quick look and rundown.  Each teams projected seed is in parentheses.

Florida St (out) at Duke (4) 7pm on ESPN– Duke is in direct competition with the Cats for a seed so any loss by them is a good thing even if their wins slightly boost the Cats RPI.

Providence (7) at Seton Hall (9) 7pm on FS1– At this point the furthest the Cats could probably fall is to a 7 seed and that would take the wheels coming off.  So Providence could end up battling the Cats for a 6 or 7 seed if all goes wrong.

Indiana (5) at Illinois (out) 9pm on ESPN– Do you really need a reason to root against the Hoosiers??

UCLA (out) at California (7) 9pm on ESPN2– California is trending upwards and as was the scenario with Providence the Cats could compete with the Bears for a seed.  Also a win by UCLA would boost their RPI and make the Cats road loss to them look a bit better.

Arizona St (out) at Utah (5) 9pm on PAC12– Utah has been moving up lately but a loss here would put a stop to that.  Plus the Cats throttled ASU earlier this season so wins by them are helpful.
