Could a 9-3 Season Happen? We Think So.

UK Football Poised for Break Out Year

Unless you’re dwelling in the land of delusion, it’s no secret that the SEC is the toughest of all football conferences year after year. Every season, Kentucky fans look at the schedule and see game after game that most certainly feels like a definite loss. Not for 2017. Starting on the road with Southern Miss and hosting Louisville in Lexington to close the schedule makes the non-conference schedule daunting as well, but every game on Kentucky’s schedule is a feasible win for Stoops in his 5th season at the helm. Here’s our win/loss predictions for the season.

September 2nd vs Southern Miss – After losing the big lead in the 2nd half to Shannon Dawson’s offense last season, this game will be a grudge match. This won’t be an easy contest on the road, but UK should come out with a WIN.

September 9th vs EKU – Dean Hood’s Colonels just about shocked the world two seasons ago in Lexington, but he is now on the blue sideline and the Colonels will need a miracle to win. WIN

September 16th vs South Carolina – For the past few years, UK has had their number, but the Gamecocks are not going to roll over very easily. Tough match up on the road for the Cats. LOSS

September 23rd vs Florida – This is the year. It’s going to happen. Get ready for it! WIN

September 30th vs Eastern Michigan – This should be an easy one for the Cats coming off two tough conference matchups. WIN

October 7th vs. Missouri – It looks like Mizzou is going to have a tough time finding wins in the SEC this season, and they are not picking one up at Kroger Field. WIN

October 21st vs Mississippi State – What a win with the field goal last year! Hopefully the Cats proves us wrong, but it will be tough to come out of Starkville without a LOSS.

October 28th vs Tennessee – Butch Jones’ welcome might be running out by this point in the season. Tennessee’s schedule is brutal and they will be pretty beat up when they come into Lexington. It’ll be tough, but we think this one will be a WIN.

November 4th vs Ole Miss – They’re a mess. We’ll take the WIN.

November 11th vs Vanderbilt – The Commodores had their fun last time the Wildcats went to Nashville, but this one belongs to the good guys! WIN

November 18th vs Georgia – It would be a fun place to pick up a win, but the Bulldogs are going to be tough to beat in Athens. LOSS

November 25th vs Louisville- A season that includes a win against Tennessee, Florida, and Louisville seems too good to be true, but why not? WIN

A 9-3 record prediction might seem a bit bold. But Kentucky has possibly the best offensive line in the conference, a fast defense, and the combination of Stephen Johnson, Benny Snell, and CJ Conrad to tear up every defense they face!
